“I have attached the piece we used for the "industry night"
The power of the story is not in the piece itself that we had run " a night with RE/MAX' type recruiting nights for several years and had very little success - 4-5 agreements to attend and only a couple turning up. Some principals had threatened their sales people with dismissal if they attended our events.
We decided to do it differently - effectively a disguised event, taking our name off the cover so to speak, inviting keynote speakers as you will see from the invite, and we were only a sponsor. We got a telemarketer who called on behalf of Peak Performance Quest to confirm - the results were massive - we invited every single salesperson in our area, regardless of whether or not we were trying to recruit them. The evening was on 6 September 2006.
40 out of 135 said they would attend, and 22 turned up, including one principal. We have recruited a huge 8 out of those 22. We gained a huge credibility out of the evening, as we were now seen differently, as giver rather than a recruiter. The information was well received - both the legal and the real estate training.”
