Be Careful What You Ask For -- You Might Just Get it!

Judy LaDeur

Have you ever noticed how some people seem to live a charmed life and others seem to have a dark cloud over their head all the time? We all seem to know people like that. The amazing thing is that those who think their life is terble, usually do have a continual series of bad circumstances or bad  luck. but is it "bad luck" or are they creating the life they have?  I recently attended an incredible seminar, hosted by Matt Ferry, called Mental Journey to Millions. It was three powerful days about the Power of Attraction, and the journey to a life of abundance. The first thing that you learn is that we are the creators of our world. Imagine that! It goes back to principles that we have heard throughout history by various scholars and philosophers, and that span back as far as the Bible.

  • What you can conceive and believe, you can achieve.
  • You reap what you sow.
  • Think you can, think you can't, either way you are right.
  • You are the maker of your own universe.
  • What goes around, comes around!
  • Ask and ye shall receive.
  • Your mind is a powerful magnet that will attract to you the things you identify yourself with. If you have sad thoughts, you will attract tragedies. If you are a good man, you will attract the company of good people.
  • Think and grow rich.

I could list another 100 phrases, but here is what I would like for you to think about. How is it that so many great men throughout history could have accomplished great things, simply by believing that they could? Or, that you must first give, in order to receive. These laws of the universe are here to give you the life of your dreams, and act as roadmaps for our destiny.

Let's apply these rules to recruiting. Many of you have heard some of the top recruiters around the country speak at our Recruiters Retreats. In talking to them, here are some common denominators they have.

  • They can conceive their success, they believe it and they are achieving it!
  • They think they can.
  • They talk about their success daily and expect great things.
  • They do the activities that are necessary to achieve that success.
  • They don't always hire the agent they want, but they know another agent is coming in, and they can hire that one.
  • They expect to talk to 10 agents per day, and they do.

Is it possible that your belief systems and what you say you can or can not do, are determining your success or lack of it?

What I really enjoyed most about Matt=92s seminar was the energy of 1000 people who all had a great attitude and expected miracles in their life daily. They didn't arrive with that attitude, but they left with that belief. I plan to go back every year just to be reminded of what I already know, but sometimes forget, because sometimes life gets us down! Or as brokers and recruiters, sometimes recruiting gets us down!

July marks the half way mark for 2007. Are you on track to hit your goals for the year? If not, let's check out what you are saying on a daily basis.

Do you talk about the agents you are going to hire, or do you talk about the ones that you can not hire? Do you talk about the number of agents you talk to each day, or do you walk around saying that you can't get a hold of anyone? Do you talk about hiring them on the first interview, or do you say, "I can't hire them on the first interview?" Think you can, think you can't -- either way you are right. Is it possible that your results, or lack of results, are a direct result of your words and your thoughts? Could it really be that simple?  I say "Yes." So, let's adjust your thinking, and be careful of what y st give it to you!

Are you sitting there thinking, "I want to believe that it's that simple, but I just can't." Then treat yourself to Matt Ferry's seminar, "Mental Journey to Millions" this year. It is an incredible three day event that will change the way you think and talk forever!
